Birch Bay Beach Cleanup – Saturday, July 5th, 2025

Need supplies? Meet near the Birch Bay Beach Park (7930 Birch Bay Drive).Every 4th of July, thousands of people flock to Birch Bay for a weekend of fireworks and fun. During the day, they explore our beautiful beaches and local attractions – by nightfall the sky comes alive with dazzling, non-stop fireworks. Many say it is the most spectacular 4th of July celebrations they’ve ever seen!
But while this celebration isn’t something we organize – it just happens to our community – the mess left behind is very real.
in 2024, volunteers collected over 5.32 tons (10,640 lbs!) of trash from our shoreline. We need your help to do it again!
Join us to:
* Bag debris along the beach
* Move it to the roadside (near the white line) for collection
Whatcom County Sheriff’s Crew will take it from there and haul it to the dumpster.Our partners with BBWARM; Whatcom Conservation District; Whatcom County Health and Community Services; Whatcom County Public Works & Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association will provide:
Supplies: globes, bags, tools, grabbers etc.
Refreshments: 9 AM – 12 PM
