Kite Festival

May 30th & 31st 2020

This year Kite Festival will be held at the site of the future Birch Bay Vogt Community Library located at 7968 Birch Bay Drive.

The Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce is excited to join The Friends of Birch Bay Library Group (FOBBL) and Whatcom County Library System to bring Kite Fest back to Birch Bay in 2020! Bring your own kite, if you don’t have a kite the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce will be glad to give you a free kite! We will have free kites available for children while supplies last. Enjoy vendors & entertainment at the library property, come hungry the Friends of Birch Bay Library will selling hot dogs to help raise funds for the library project.

Rollback Weekend & Sand Sculpture Competition

July 18th & 19th 2020

We are excited to pair Birch Bay’s classic Sand Sculpture Competition with the Best Classic Car Show around – our very own Rollback weekend, presented by VICIOUS AUTOWORKS.
This was our biggest event in 2019, and we can’t wait to bring it back together in 2020!
Our car show is open to all years, all makes and models, bring your motorcycles, trucks and project cars this car show will take you back to your youth, no matter what decade you grew up in! Cruise Birch Bay Drive and check out the amazing Sand Sculptures and Castles on the tide flats of Birch Bay, or gather your friends, family or co-workers and get your hands dirty and build your own sand sculpture! This annual event is one of the most looked forward to events in Birch Bay. Prizes are awarded for the best sculptures in four different divisions: Little Kids, Tweens, High Schoolers, Big Kids, Community & Family, there is a category for everyone!

National Night Out

National Night Out is a fun way to celebrate community, local law enforcement, and first responders. This year’s event will be held in the Birch Bay Square Parking lot near Woods Coffee & Bob’s Burger & Brew.

September 5th & 6th, 2020

Discover Birch Bay Days is a weekend full of fun family activities including a crab derby, parade, kids Olympics, as well as vendors and live entertainment for the whole family.

Ring of Fire and Hope

December 31st, 2020

The annual Birch Bay Ring of Fire & Hope takes place each December 31st at 7pm. Everyone heads down to the shoreline lights a biodegradable road flare and places it near the water. With people all around the bay participating, the effect is beautiful and the entire bay looks like a string of red Christmas lights from end to end.

Polar Bear Plunge

There is no better way to start the New Year than a refreshing dip into the freezing waters of Birch Bay! 2021 will be the 38th Annual celebration of the Polar Plunge in Birch Bay. Bring the whole family down to the bay for our first celebration of the New Year!
