Ring of Fire & Hope is one of Birch Bay’s most meaningful New Year’s traditions—an evening of reflection, connection, and hope as we light the shoreline together.

While the Birch Bay Chamber helps spread the word and offers a limited number of complimentary flares (thanks to Bay Center Market!), this is a community-led tradition that has grown organically over the years, shaped by the people who show up year after year to take part.

A few important reminders to help keep this event safe and enjoyable for everyone:
🔥 Flare Distribution
• A limited number of complimentary flares
• Available ONLY on December 30 & 31 — no early pick-up
• One flare per family
• Must be 18+ to receive a flare

📍 Pick-up locations & times:
• Dec 30 & 31 | 10 AM–4 PM at the Visitor Information Center
• Dec 31 | 4–7 PM at Birch Bay Beach Park (while supplies last)

🌱 Protect the Berm
Please stay out of fenced areas and use designated access points. The young native plants on the berm play a vital role in preventing erosion, supporting wildlife, and protecting our shoreline—thank you for helping care for this special place.

🧹 Leave No Trace
Please pack out what you pack in and help leave the beach just as you found it—or better. A clean shoreline helps ensure this tradition can continue for years to come.

We’re grateful to be part of such a thoughtful, respectful community—and we can’t wait to welcome the New Year together ✨
