Last week the new design for the proposed Birch Bay Library was released to the public. The 7,600 square foot building has been drawn up by Zervas Architects of Bellingham, WA. The new library will be located at 7920 Birch Bay Drive on property that was purchased by the WCLS after approval by the board of trustees.
The original plan had been to use the existing 105-year old house on the property but the new design doesn’t incorporate the house and would be its own unique structure. The new design will incorporate multiple features suggested by the public at community meetings.
