Derby Day Birch Bay Golf Cart & Bicycle Poker Run 2024

A poker run is an fun event in which participants visit checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the course. The Birch Bay Poker run is for participants on bicycles and golf carts only and is a FREE non-gambling family-friendly event with prizes for the best poker hands. Teams should register in advance (see form below) we fill up at 52 teams.
While traveling on all public roads follow all rules and regulations as required by law. Do not drive your golf cart on public roads if it does not meet all state/county requirements. Golf carts may only operate in the Birch Bay golf cart zone area designated by the county.

Rules:

Only one hand may be played per team. (A maximum of 104 teams may participate).

Teams MUST be conveyed by bicycle or golf cart or walking (people in cars will not be allowed to participate).

Teams will visit each of the designated stations. Stations can be visited in any order.

At each station teams will say their team name to the volunteer and then pick a card. Only one card can be selected, you can not switch cards once it is shown to you.

Teams will collect (6) cards total to try to create the best 5 card poker hand.

In the event of a tie the 6th card will be used to break the tie and determine the winner.

Teams with the best hands will be eligible for prizes.

Birch Bay Chamber staff will determine winners and reserves the right to full discretion in determining winners. Winning teams will be contacted by email after the completion of the event.

- Three of a Kind
- Two Pair
- Pair
- High Card
**Ace is High
**Suit strength from high to low will be Spades/Hearts/Diamonds/Clubs.
